Presuming you went through your usual skincare routine the night before, chances are, you’ll wake up with your skin in pretty good shape. For that reason, you can keep your routine pretty simple. Here’s a good, easy-to-follow morning skincare routine.

Get Up and Have a Coffee

OK, it’s fine if you want to do this first. You can even check out Instagram for a few minutes if you want to (as long as you focus on accounts that make you feel great about yourself!).

Cleanse

Once you feel like you’re ready to face the day, give yourself a gentle, but thorough cleanse with our So Clean! facial cleanser. Tone Your Skin

Cleanse Your Skin – Deeply This Time

You’ve been wearing makeup and sunscreen all day, you took that virtual barre class at lunchtime, you’ve had your hands on your face all day while staring at the computer. Let’s face it–your skin is dirrrrrty! Give it a really, really thorough cleaning–in fact, why not wash, rinse, and repeat–to get all the gunk off before you go to bed!

Detox

If you really, really want to make sure you get all the impurities that have ravaged your skin all day, apply a really great detox mask like our Prince Charcoal.   1. Figuring out your morning vs. night skincare routine is really just a matter of adjusting, not revamping your skincare routine. With a few little changes and possibly increasing the amount of something you might use (like a little more moisturizer at night), it’s basically a fairly similar routine.
  2. Do not skip your nighttime routine! Life happens during the day which means that’s when your skin is exposed to environmental stressors, dirt, oil, masks (at least hopefully, just for a little while longer), your own hands, the sun, wind, and all kinds of other forces that can damage your skin. It’s also when you’re presumably wearing the most makeup (unless you’ve ignored our constant advice to take your makeup off before going to bed!) which, in and of itself, can really clog up your skin. That’s why it’s so crucial not to skip your nighttime routine, no matter how tired you are. A good way to avoid the “I’m too tired to take off my makeup!” blues is to do it as soon as you are home for the evening–not just minutes before you go to sleep. If necessary, you can always cleanse, tone, and apply serum earlier and then apply your moisturizer and eye cream later.
  3. It’s OK to do your skincare routine in stages. Although it’s probably easier to do it all at once, if you feel you need a little extra of something or just feel as if your skin needs something right now (like moisturizer in the middle of the day), that is absolutely fine. The main thing is to make sure you’re eventually getting all the steps in.
  4. Part of what sometimes makes sticking to a skincare routine difficult, is that our mornings and evenings are when we’re often the most rushed and the most tired, leaving us little energy or motivation to go through our usual skincare routine. A great way to make sure you don’t use that as an excuse not to go through your skincare routine is to keep your products out and easily accessible and if possible, in the order in which you need to use them. Just remember to keep your natural skin care products out of direct sunlight & heat!
