New Formulations for Toner, Serum, and Detox Mask

New Formulations for Toner, Serum, and Detox Mask

As recently mentioned, we've made some changes to our Fleur & Bee products. We took customer feedback and product reviews into consideration to find out how we could best improve our products. After much research and discussion, some active ingredients have been added, while some existing ingredients have been tweaked. Clean, vegan and highly effective skincare is our goal. Read on to learn more about how we improved these products.

Rose and Shine Rose Water Toner

What customers loved: The smell, and refreshing feel on their skin.

Major complaint: Not to toot our own horn, but there weren’t too many complaints about this product. However, we still made some changes.

What we changed: While we loved that our toner had only two ingredients, we realized that our toner would have a longer shelf life and be safe for our customers if it included preservatives to keep mold and bacteria from growing. We added the most minimal yet necessary amount of phenoxyethanol ethylhexylglycerin as preservatives. We also added glycerin to make the toner even more hydrating.

Nectar of the C Vitamin C Serum

What customers loved: Their skin looked brighter, and they loved the citrusy scent.

Major complaint: Many people thought the serum felt too sticky, and some experienced mild irritation after use.

What we changed: We discovered that the 15% concentration of sodium ascorbyl phosphate (vitamin C) made the serum feel sticky. We reduced the amount of vitamin C to 10%, which got rid of that sticky feeling while keeping the product just as effective. We also learned that the preservative blend we were using of sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate could lead to irritation, so we switched it out for phenoxyethanol and ethylhexylglycerin.

Prince Charcoal Detox Mask

What customers loved: Their face felt super clean and refreshed after use.

Major complaint: Redness.

What we changed: Kaolin clay can cause redness in the skin, as it can increase blood flow to your skin. We reduced the amount we included in our mask, but kept enough to still get the purifying benefits. We also removed salicylic acid and increased the amount of calming ingredients like glycerin and aloe.
