Nectar of the C: Natural Vitamin C Serum by Fleur & Bee

Everyone wants glowing, brighter skin. And while taking good care of your skin is key to keeping your complexion looking flawless — you might be missing out on the ultimate secret weapon: vitamin C serum.

A natural vitamin C serum can be the difference between ho-hum, average-looking skin and a radiant complexion.

At Fleur & Bee, we wanted to create a version that was free from toxins, animal ingredients, and yucky chemicals, so you know you’re putting only the purest ingredients on your face.

That’s how we developed Nectar of the C, our natural anti-aging face serum that brightens, tightens, and rejuvenates!

Here’s everything you need to know about our specially formulated serum:

Knowledge Drop: Why Vitamin C for Your Skin Is Non-Negotiable

Everyone knows vitamin C is good for your immune system, but were you aware that it’s often the secret ingredient in skin care? At Fleur & Bee, we use vitamin C in a lot of our products. It’s an incredible antioxidant with a wealth of properties that can give you envy-inducing skin.

Here are the deets on vitamin C: its technical name is ascorbic acid, and it’s necessary for a whole host of functions in our bodies. It’s also a key ingredient in skin care as it can firm, tighten, and revitalize your skin's appearance.

Vitamin C is found in our top layer of skin, the epidermis, as well as the one below it, the dermis. But over time and with environmental stressors (like sun exposure and pollutants), the vitamin C content in our skin declines — and we need to replenish it.

Because our bodies don’t make it naturally, we need to consume it through plant foods like citrus fruits, spinach, and tomatoes — and slather in on our faces, too!

The Good Stuff That’s in Our Facial Serum

So what ingredients make up our facial serum? Well, our natural vitamin C serum includes the following, all hand-picked by the Fleur & Bee team for their unique properties:

Vitamin C

Given the name, this ingredient obviously takes top billing! Ascorbic acid is the key.

One of the ways Fleur & Bee is unique is that we use a derivative of vitamin C, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, instead of pure L-Ascorbic Acid.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP) is more stable and provides the same benefits without the risks. L-Ascorbic Acid oxidizes faster (meaning, it’s damaged more quickly by its contact with oxygen and becomes less effective), and can lead to irritation.

But SAP is known to help boost skin rejuvenation and provide a fresh and revitalized appearance. It can also help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration.

Organic Jojoba

This natural moisturizer softens and conditions skin. Interestingly, it closely resembles the natural lubricant our own skin makes — sebum. So, it absorbs extremely easily. It also helps create a protective barrier against the elements.

Pink Grapefruit

This rosy-hued citrus fruit is rich in antioxidants and citric acid. Grapefruit also acts as a natural exfoliant, so it helps slough away dead skin and keeps your face looking fresh.

Clary Sage

While this ingredient may be new to you, clary sage is an aromatic herb that originated in the Mediterranean. It can help to eliminate overly-dry or overly-oily skin, and acts as a natural toner.

Chamomile

Though typically known for its sleep-inducing tea applications, this herb is also an excellent skin soother. Chamomile provides a thin protective shield while naturally soothing and calming the skin.

Vitamin E

A potent antioxidant, vitamin E has been shown to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and discoloration, plus soften, rejuvenate, and give your skin a nutritive boost. It can also help to diminish other skin imperfections.

Vitamin C Serum Benefits

With those ingredients combined, here are some of the benefits you can expect from Nectar of the C:

  • Reduces the appearance of dark spots
  • Makes your skin tone appear more even, smoother and brighter
  • Softens the appearance of fine lines
  • Keeps you looking youthful, refreshed, and glowing
  • Uses 10% Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate)
